Woy Woy Infinity Pool

A hidden swimming spot in the bush Hidden deep inside Brisbane Water National Park on the Central Coast lies one of the region’s most photogenic swimming spots.  the Woy Woy Waterfall Pool, often called the Woy Woy Infinity Pool. This small trough-style pool sits beside a waterfall in the middle of the bush and has become popular thanks to social media. While the walk is relatively easy, the track to the pool itself is not signposted, which means knowing the right turns is essential. Here’s a step-by-step guide to finding it safely.

GUIDE TO:

Where is the Woy Woy Infinity Pool?

The waterfall sits in the southern section of Brisbane Water National Park near the town of Woy Woy on the NSW Central Coast.

The walk starts from Tunnel Fire Trail, which branches off Woy Woy Road.

Distance: ~5.4–5.6 km return Time: 1–2 hours return Difficulty: Easy–Moderate (steep section near the waterfall)

Where to Park The trail begins from a small roadside parking area on Woy Woy Road at the entrance to Tunnel Fire Trail. Parking coordinates: -33.481279, 151.295083

There is only room for around 8–10 cars, so it’s best to arrive early, especially on weekends. When driving from Woy Woy toward Kariong, the parking area will be on the left side of the road just before the fire trail gate.

Step-by-Step Guide to the Woy Woy Waterfall Pool

1. Start at Tunnel Fire Trail From the roadside parking area, walk past the gate onto Tunnel Fire Trail. The first section of the walk follows a wide fire trail through bushland, making it easy to navigate.

2. Walk Along the Fire Trail (About 1 km) Follow the trail downhill for around 1 km. You’ll pass a gate and continue along the same trail. The walk is mostly flat and shaded through classic Central Coast bushland.

3. Reach the Track Junction After roughly 700m further, you’ll reach a junction with signage pointing to: • Tunnel Track • Rocky Ponds • Mullet Creek Instead of following the main signposted routes, take the unmarked trail to the left that follows the powerlines.

4. Follow the Powerlines Downhill Continue along this track under the powerlines. The path slowly descends toward the valley and eventually appears to reach a dead end near a power pylon.

5. Find the Small Track to the Creek Near the pylon, look for a small worn bush track on the right. This narrow path drops down toward a shallow creek.

6. Follow the Creek Once you reach the creek, follow it downstream. Within about 100 metres, you’ll see the sandstone edges of the waterfall area.

7. Carefully Descend to the Waterfall Pool At the top of the waterfall, turn right to find a small track that leads down to the pool. This final section is steep and rocky, so take your time and watch your footing. At the bottom you’ll arrive at the famous Woy Woy Infinity Pool, a small trough-like pool beside a waterfall that overlooks the valley.

What Makes This Spot Special The Woy Woy pool is unique because:

• The pool forms a perfect trough beside the waterfall

• It’s hidden deep in bushland

• The surrounding sandstone cliffs give it an infinity-pool effect It’s one of the most unusual swimming spots on the Central Coast.

Safety Tips Before visiting, keep these things in mind:

• The final descent is steep and slippery • Avoid visiting after heavy rain

• There are no signs or facilities

• The pool is small and fills quickly on busy days

• Wear proper hiking shoes There have also been warnings about water quality after heavy rainfall due to runoff in the area, so swimming conditions can vary.
