Gosford Glyphs
Hidden in the bush on the east coast of Australia is a rather unusual sight, Egyptian symbols carved into stone.
there are over 300 symbols etched into the 3.5m high sandstone walls including Anubis, scarab beetles and more. The sight is quite spectacular, but what is it doing in the middle of the Aussie bush?

WHAT TO BRING: Water, hat, closed in shoes, snacks, camera, sunblock, bag for your rubbish.

Well the story goes that an Egyptian boat became shipwrecked here in Australia and its surviving occupants carved their story for all to read.
This story was debunked in recent years however and a date of the carvings being made was estimated around the 1920's when all things Egyptian became rather popular in Australia.
But real or not this is an amazing spot and well worth the visit.
