SLOT CANYON

Slot Canyon is one of the amazing sights along to Tomaree coastal walk but did you know that you dont have to do the entire treck to see this gem.

Start your journey at boat harbour. Here you can park your car one one of two starting points.

the first being the car park at the southern end of boat harbour beach, here you will find toilet blocks and the small beach harbur will be included into your walk.

The second location is on the nothern end of the beach near the play ground. at this location you will be closer to the start of the coastal walk trail that leads to the canyon.

Parking near the play ground leave your car and walk towards the end of the street where you will turn left and head across the grass area towards the start of the bush track.

​​​​​​when you reach the bush track simply follow the maintained trail through the scrub, it will open up after a short time onto the rocky coastline, the views only get better from here.

continue your journey around the rocks following the path, its important to note that the path at times can get harder to see so keep a look out for dark green arrows painted on the ground or pilons that will indicate which way you are to go.

there are a few small bridges leading to the Slot Canyon the first bridge afte he walk opens up along the rocky coastline is a small metal flat allowing you to cross a divet in the rocks and the second is a little larger, this bridge is an amazing spot after rain as there is a mini water run off that trickles underneath it and pools into the rocks below before cascading into the ocean.

continuing on the path becomes more visible again and reaches some man made sandstone steps, when you reach these you are almost at your destination.

shortly you will find a second smaller set of steps and just around bend the walk will open up to a viewing platform where the landscape does not disapoint.
