When it comes to summer swimming spots This has to be one of the best kept secrets considering how easily accessible it. This walk in rock pool with crystal clear waters has a sandy bottom and plenty of ledges and alcoves to lounge on.

The Iris moore rockpool is the perfect spot for the whole familyincluding the fur legged canine members. located near anna bay this is a destination you can almost drive right up to which means there is not a lot of guidance needed when finding this destination.
It should be noted however that the pool is right next to a national park track, your dog can not go beyond the national park sign.

you can almost see the rock pool from your table, thats how close this destination is. This alone makes Iris Moore a great for the entire family.
Heading towards the coastline from the picnic area you will notice many areas down on the rocks that will afford you your own little paradise pool, the Iris moore pool however being the main one is the deepest and most frequented and its easy to see why.
once at the rocky edge you will see a small path in the grass which leads down to a small sandy outcrop and a walk in clear pool.

This is a tidal pool and the depth and clarity will change with the tides and seasons, i have found summer is the best time of year to visit this particular spot as it offers lower to medium tides.

Timing is everything when it comes to a tourist destination like our beautiful Port Stephens but its strange that with how easy this pool is to get to it never seems to be as packed out as some of the other spots.
