Welcome to the Pebble Pool, an ocean lover’s dream tucked away on a rocky island.
Accessible only at low tide, this hidden gem offers a deep, crystal-clear rockpool perfect for a tranquil swim, free from the crowds.
To begin your adventure, park your car at the end of the rocky track closest to Rocky Beach. From there, follow the path towards the ocean.
As the track opens up, you’ll see the impressive Big Rocky, a large rock formation that becomes cut off by the tide at high water—so timing is everything!

Be sure to check tide charts online to confirm the timing of low and high tide before you embark. If the tide looks unsafe or too high to cross, it’s best to wait or try again another day. Always prioritize safety—this isn’t a race!
Once you’ve confirmed that it’s safe to proceed and the tide is at the right level, head across the small sandy path and onto Big Rocky Island.

From here, it’s less than five minutes to your destination.
Stick to the right-hand side of the island as you walk, and you’ll soon be greeted by the serene beauty of the Pebble Pool—a perfect summer escape. Before entering the water, it’s important to check the tide charts again to know when the tide will be coming back in.
With your plan in place and a set time to head home, you can fully enjoy this slice of paradise.
